EXECUTING THE PLAN

There are two things wrong with Vital Farms right now.
One is a very company-specific issue, which I’m watching closely for management to fix (or at least work to fix) during the upcoming quarterly earnings results.
The other isn’t so bad…
It’s an industry-wide problem that’s also brought some of the peers down by over 50% from previous highs.
Last week, Vital Farms management showed they “get it.”
By launching a new pilot program into new target locations, offering their eggs at only $5 a carton, they are effectively achieving:
A major inventory offload
New household penetration & brand awareness
All just days before the quarterly figures and future guidance is announced.
In part two of this company deep dive, I broke down the current financials, and how much the stock can be worth if management ends up fixing the issues they have just tackled last week.
Looks like we’re well on our way to execute that plan.
Today will be a lot simpler (and shorter) of a post to finish off the Vital Farms series.
We’ll go over the levels we bought at, and where we’d be willing to add more on breakouts.
Then,
I will give you my back of the envelope options structure to ensure we collect a monthly paycheck from this company while we continue to hold and see the thesis play out in due time.
Let’s get into it,
Vital Farms Part 3: Levels & options cash flow.
