DON’T FIGHT THE MARKET

Strategy Performance Across Disciplines, Offside Capital
There are a lot of claims from so-called “traders” saying their strategy is superior to everything else out there.
I would let the data speak for itself…
Relative value long/short equity between small and large-cap companies is one of the best ways to take money from the market.
Which is why most of the ideas I send your way are centered around trading spreads.
But,
There’s a more powerful approach found in buying deep value companies in the United States with a market capitalization below $1.2 billion, otherwise known as the small/micro-cap space.
The reason is simple:
Institutions can’t influence prices as much
Analysts rarely cover them
Retail drives most of the traded volume
Which creates a mix for inefficiencies that cannot be found in the biggest and most popular companies in the market.
And,
Inefficiencies are where the money is made, as long as you know what you’re looking for.
That leads me to today’s pick.
There are three major market forces at play today, acting as tailwinds for companies like the one we will cover today:
The AI trade is unwinding, and capital is rotating into defensive areas
GDP and PMI data support this view, as growth is showing up in defensives
Rotations mean de-risking, and institutions can’t sell the small/micro-cap companies that they don’t own in the first place
One particular industry breaking out right now is food items and services.
After hours of searching for the best way to express this view, combining all the market forces above…
I found a boring AI-proof company that’s now down 83% from its highs.
The reason behind the selloff is the interesting part here.
The Iran war, and its effects on supply chains, collapsed the company’s margins
However,
Recent quarterly data shows that the company gained market share as more supermarket chains buy their products.
That only happens if people are willing to buy this brand over the competitor…
Even better still,
A scared retail crowd sold the stock based on price action, extending the downfall below the company’s liquidation value.
It really doesn’t get better than that!
AI-proof business selling a product people are buying more of
A scared retail crowd selling stock down to irrational levels
One-time events dragging margins
Simply put,
Buying this company offers one of the rare risk-free bets on a fundamental level, especially since earnings per share (EPS) can 10x after these one-time events normalize.
It’s the reason why management keeps buying stock.
And why I decided to buy as well.
Let’s get into it,
I Went Looking for AI-Proof Stocks, and Bought an Egg Company.
